Charity Long
Contemporary Figurative Artist
My focus is the exploration of the human figure. My work includes traditional and digital media.
The difficult experiences of my youth inform my work. My paintings explore my fear surrounding my body, my identity, and a lack of ownership over myself.
Despite my past, I am grown now. I am my own person. I choose to remember and imagine better ideas and outcomes for myself. My art practice is where I express those visualizations and an ownership of identity.
I grew up in Lynwood, California. I've lived in Paramount, California the past four years.
I am finally within a space of my own. Now when I want to draw, I draw. When I want to paint, I paint, and when I want to conceptualize, I conceptualize.
